Every Home for Christ, Colorado Springs
Our precious friend and brother, Taechin “TC” Kim, went home to heaven on December 29, 2019 at the age of 72. TC cherished Soonae, his wife of 44 years, their sons Andrew and Sean, daughters-in-law Mira and Julia, and grandchildren Aviella, Ethan, Lydia, Luke and Emmanuella. He inspired the Body of Christ towards authentic transformation of our city, state and nation.
TC was born on November 27, 1947 in the city of Taegu, South Korea, where he grew up with his parents, Jaewoo and Sangok Kim, older sister Kyoungae, younger brother Joongyeol and younger sister Jungae. He graduated from Yonsei University in Seoul with a BA in Business and received his MBA from the University of La Verne in Southern California. His professional career includes nearly 30 years in Korea, America, Panama and Singapore as: General Manager of Samsung Trading Company; Vice President of NCH Corporation; and Asian Pacific Operations Sales Director, Otis Elevator Company, a division of United Technologies.
TC's spiritual birth occurred in 1976 which was triggered by his father's death, and after he completed discipleship training in 1985, he became fully committed to following Jesus. In 2000, TC and Soonae moved to Los Angeles, as he transitioned from an international businessman to service with a global non-profit organization Erom and Loving Concern America as a missionary, providing medical supplies to South America and Africa. In 2007, TC was commissioned by several national and global ministry leaders at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. to serve as the National Facilitator of Transform USA. TC and Soonae were embarking in a great adventure with Jesus!
They immediately moved to Colorado Springs and began to connect with local pastors, ministry leaders and intercessors as well as many across the nation for the purpose of relationship, support and collaboration towards transforming America together. During the initial year, TC launched the weekly Transform USA Wednesday Prayer Group for those who are desperate for revival in our state and nation. He also began the monthly Transform USA National Conference Call to provide a networking platform for servant leaders to share about their regional and national ministries of serving others which also continues into 2020. At both the weekly local prayer meeting as well as the monthly national conference calls, TC always encouraged and inspired the family of God to be the transforming agent in the spheres of business, education, public service, media, arts/entertainment and religion.
Since their early years in Colorado Springs, TC and Soonae became active members of Etz Khayim Messianic Fellowship and Bridal Lamp Church. In 2014, TC was granted the Pike Peak Conference Room in the Colorado Springs City Hall to launch the weekly Friday evening gatherings to pray for our city which also continues through the present. During TC’s years in Colorado Springs, he looked for opportunities to serve the needs of our community, especially sharing the Gospel and caring for the homeless. He also convened several special Transform USA events including the 2011 D-Day Prayer throughout the Pikes Peak Region, Transform USA Summit 2018 in this very room and worship at Palmer Park this past September 28. TC continued to “fight the good fight of faith” even after he was diagnosed with stage four cancer in 2015, “finished the race,” and he is now among “a great cloud of witnesses” cheering us on.
TC lived a transformed life through loving and honoring all those around him as a husband, father, son, brother, friend, international businessman, global missionary and local and national ministry leader. He embraced the Father Heart of God and released His Presence in our city, nation and beyond. To those of us who have been impacted by TC's life transformed by Jesus, let us continue to transform our city and nation together!
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God - this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will. ~ Romans 12:1-2
“…but with God all things are possible.” ~ Matthew 19:26b
